Hatashita/FUJI Medalists at the Pan American-Oceania Championships

Jack Yonezuka Captures Gold in the -73kg Division

Leading the charge was 2024 Olympian Jack Yonezuka, who entered the event as the No. 1 seed in the -73kg division. Jack secured his first Pan American Championship medal — and it was GOLD! In a thrilling final, he defeated Brazil’s Daniel Cargnin with a newaza submission during golden score.

Notably, the last American to win the Pan American title at -73kg was Dominic Rodriguez in 2022 — another Hatashita/FUJI-sponsored athlete.

Maria Laborde Adds Silver in the -48kg Division

World No. 13 Maria Laborde continued her incredible season, earning a silver medal in the -48kg category. Fresh off a bronze medal at the Upper Austria Grand Prix, Maria now boasts four Pan American medals for Team USA after previously representing Cuba earlier in her career.

Jonathan Yang Wins Bronze in His Senior Debut

Making a remarkable senior debut, 17-year-old Jonathan Yang — the reigning Cadet World Champion — captured a bronze medal in the -60kg division. What an incredible start to his senior-level judo career!
