"The gi itself is a nice basic training gi and the fit is really nice (once it was shrunken down to size) Putting it on out of the package is extremely oversized. But as suggested in the reviews, I shrank it down as much as I could. The jacket is pretty much perfect now and the fit is really comfortable. However as other have said, the pants are like clown pants no matter how much you try to shrink it. I followed the size chart but I don't see how the pants could fit anyone of the size range. Not sure if $80 is worth it for just a jacket, but based on most of the other reviews I kind of expected it. But I will say it's my first Mizuno and for a daily practice gi I can't complain. I'll probably just donate the pants to someone at my club. Some might be able to get them hemmed--but for me they seem a bit wider than my kusakura and fuji. And it comes with a belt which is nice for any one starting out as white belt!"
Oversized but shrinkable.
"I am a female 5’3 160lbs so I went by weight and got the size 4 which is between 130-160 lbs. When I got my order a week later I thought I would have to return because the fit was so big! I washed it three times in hot water and dried it three times on high in a dryer and now it’s the perfect fit. The apron is rather large on me but I think it’s because my height. I’m not sure if I would have sized down if it would have made a difference. Besides that the feel of the material is extremely soft. Softer than my Fuji. I have not trained with it yet but looking forward to it tomorrow. It’s a nice looking gi and affordable price."
